Bennington Standing Poodle with Basket
Lyman Fenton & Company,
Bennington, Vermont (1849-1858).
Pottery with flint enamel Rockingham-glaze.
Excellent condition, minor manufacturing flaws including firing separations to belly.
A wonderful example of a standing poodle with coleslaw fur grasping a basket with applied fruit on coleslaw grass with a mottled brown glaze. Illustration/Literature; Bennington Pottery and Porcelain, Barret, pg. 286. Pl. 369.
