Bonneville Land Speed Race Car Sculpture Xtremeliner
-
Description
In the 1980's and 1990's Marshall Ziegert of Los Angeles , California created and sold this miniature tether race car called the 'Xtremeliner'. The design of the car was based on the Land Speed Record cars that raced against the clock on the Bonneville Salt Flats in northwestern Utah. This miniature car is made from cast aluminum, it has beautiful streamlined lines, designed for speed. Marshall sold these cars at the time with installed gas powered engines so they could be run on miniature race tracks or attached by cable to a central pole. He also, as in this case, sold them without engines so you could choose which type of engine you wanted to power your car. This actual model is without an engine, it does have rotating wheels with rubber tires. These models were made in very limited editions, are signed by the designer inside the body. We are selling this as a decorative sculpture, it is a magnificent object for decoration in an office or den.
