Description
Beautiful spherical vase by Camille Fauré (model named Yvonne). It is made of copper and enamelled with floral (poppies) design. The enamel is superb in its delicacy, sophistication and variety of colors.
Camille Fauré relaunched the multi century enamel tradition in Limoges France which made Limoges famous from the middle age onward. He became the master of enameled copper vases during the art deco period. This design is typical of Camille Fauré work in the 1920's, he used to give feminine forename to its creation here Yvonne . This design is quite rare.
it is signed at the bottom within the enamel : "C. Fauré. Limoges. FRANCE.". It also bears a handwritten sticker under the base : "Yvonne pavots stylisés" ie "Yvonne stylized poppies"
Condition is very good.
