Chinese lacquer box with bone and mother-of-pearl counters
Chinese, Late 19th Century
Height 9.5cm, width 32cm, depth 23cm
This beautiful Chinese red lacquer box, the surfaces carved with traditional Chinese scenes in fine relief, contains three tiers, each tier filled with bone and mother-of-pearl gaming counters. The counters, which number over 1,000, are in a variety of shapes, from discs to fish-like forms. -
