Delft blue and white "Rappe" urn-shape tobacco jar with lid, Netherlands, circa 1790-1809. Inscribed “Rappe” and decorated with coastal scene and seated “Amerindian” figure. Rappe was a coarse kind of snuff made from darker tobacco leaves.
