Description
This iconic and graphic pair of candlesticks were realized by the celebrated midcentury American designer Dorothy Thorpe, circa 1950. Often imitated, but never replicated, Thorpe created some of the midcentury's most cherished designs for household items. These candleholders with their twisting sinuous forms created in translucent Lucite with a cylindrical nickeled mouth and bobeches represent one of her most celebrated and instantly recognizable designs. They read as both very much of the period and timeless, making them a perfect addition to any style of decor. Excellent vintage condition.
American, circa 1950
