Pair of Pretzel Candlesticks in Lucite and Nickeled by Dorothy Thorpe
-
Description
This iconic and graphic pair of candlesticks were realized by the celebrated Mid Century American designer Dorothy Thorpe, circa 1950. Often imitated, but never replicated, Thorpe created some of the Mid Century's most cherished designs for household items. These candleholders with their twisting sinuous forms created in translucent lucite with a cylindrical nickeled mouth and bobeche represent one of her most celebrated and instantly recognizable designs. They read as both very much of the period and timeless, making them a perfect addition to any style of decor. Excellent vintage condition.
