Pair of Edme Samson porcelain birds with pink beak, yellow and black chest, brown body and black tail feathers, perched on a tree stump surrounded by colorful floral designs. At the back is a Samson Meissen style mark used on replicas of German porcelain. There is a gilded S between the cross hatches. Samson Ceramics copied designs by Chelsea, Meissen, Sevres as well as many Chinese export porcelain items. Today they are highly collectible.
