-
Description
Dimensions: 44 3/4?H x 48?W x 15 3/4?D
A stunning, large brass table scale, made near the turn of the century, England. The scale is no longer operational, but still makes an mighty impact on a space. The scale is made of brass, with two copper weigh pans. The shaped arms support the hanging pans, attached by linked brass strands. As seen in the detailed photos, each copper pan has been stamped numerous times with a seal, bearing a year, surrounded by Greek letters. The English crown can also be seen stamped into the copper. These dates signify when the scale was last calibrated. The brass column shaft sits atop a brass pedestal, which sits atop stacked brass, which sits upon a piece of gray marble. The entire scale is lifted by brass ball feet. The scale includes the weights with which it is pictured. -
