Rare large ceramic Art deco square box by Faïenceries et Emaux de Longwy made around 1925. The bright and bold turquoise enamelled cloisonné Chinoiserie design features a beautiful parrot surrounded by foliage. The blue ground features Longwy's signature craquelure glaze. Signed Bonb. 1192 - D. 4040 - Longwy France under. The Longwy manufacture has hundreds of years of tradition, their golden age is clearly the 1920s to 1940s when the cloisonné technique reached a creative Art deco peak. A collectible piece, with a wonderful decorative presence, found in a very good vintage condition. Perfect as a gift, it can be used as a ring or jewellery box.
