French 17th Century Carved Oak Trunk

Description
A French solid oak trunk, or coffer, from circa 1680. This sturdy coffer has a carved, paneled design on its top, front, and sides, while the back remains undecorated. The carvings feature medallions and arches in between the stepped panels. A working lock and key releases the lid to access a wide open interior. Forged iron handles hang from the left and right sides. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this antique is ready for your immediate use.
