1970s Italian Signed Scavo Murano Glass Green Bottles with Handles and Stoppers
-
Description
A fabulous rare organic modern pair of signed Gambaro & Poggi Turquoise Murano Glass Bottles with white scavo handles and bottle stoppers, worked with extensive 24 Kt gold leaf in the glass. High quality of execution.
The aquamarine blue-green turquoise color glass body is worked in the scavo technique giving it a stone essence while the gilding in pure gold adds preciousness and elegance. The large body is closed out by a small opening, making it ideal as one flower vase. The white handles are worked with scavo to resemble roman style urns. Both signed Gambaro & Poggi etched by hand. The glass stoppers also in white scavo glass are made in a round ring shape and finished with a rounded tip to sit perfectly on the rolled-out rim of the bottles.
Can be purchased individually.
The furnace, Vetreria Artistica Gambaro & Poggi Murano Glass, was founded in 1974 by Mario Gambaro and Bruno Poggi, who have been trained and worked at some of the most renowned glass artists and companies like Archimed Seguso, Alfredo Barbini, Seguso Vetri D'Arte, Nason and Barovier & Toso. When they founded their own company, the signature became well-known for attention to detail and was associated with the introduction of new styles and shapes. -
