Pair of Danish Modern sterling silver 2-light candelabra. Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen. Two s-scroll arms each terminating in single socket with lobed and flared socket on same bellied base, in turn, mounted to wax pan. Raised leaf caps supporting tendrils with pendant seed cluster; crossed over arms forming loop inset with same. Lobed ball support; foot raised with leaf-and-dart border. Substantial with visible hand hammering.
The famous so-called pomegranate design, symbolic of fruitful abundance that was conceived by the master in 1919, a year after the end of four years of world war. Fully marked including maker’s stamp (1945-77) and no. 324. Very good condition.
