German 800 silver keepsake box, ca 1900. Rectangular; cover hinged with scrolled tab. Repousse and chased ornament on stippled ground. On cover top, Classical battle scene: cavalry with raised swords trampling over foot soldiers; spearmen, in the background. Sides decorated with military trophies in scrolled frames. Gilt interior. Hanu maker’s stamp (Georg Roth & Co.). Very good condition with deep patina.
