Neodymium / Alexandrite Art Glass Sommerso Vase by Gino Cenedese, 1960, Italy
-
Description
On offer for your consideration we have a stunning neodymium / alexandrite art glass vase made in Venice by Gino Cenedese.
The vase is done in a sommerso technique and is produced by the inclusion of neodymium oxide (Nd2O3) in the glass melt, this is why in daylight or incandescent light this vase appears lavender, but it appears pale blue under fluorescent lighting (please look at the photos).
The tall cylindrical form is one of there wide range of shapes that they used from 1950 to 1960. This model was designed by Da Ros in 1960. This vase will work in any interior. -
