Hand blown blue glass vase with murrhines and gold foil by Giulio Radi for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano Italy, circa 1950. Radi's works are beautiful and rare. The gold foil in the glass give it a jewel-like quality.

"Art Glass from Murano 1910-1970" by Marc Heiremans published by Arnoldsche in 1993, page A.VE.M. 11, an archival photo from the XXV Biennale of Venice in 1950 shows 3 vases. The vase on the right is a similar form with identical murrhines.
Provenance:
Evan Lobel purchased this pieces directly from A.V.E.M. in 2001 as part of a large collection of pieces stored there from the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s. -
