Description
Medallion silver-plate toast rack. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1880. Rectangular frame with curved ends and egg-and-dart rim; splayed supports. Seven rings of which the central one has pillar handle mounted with round Classical profiles of virtuous matrons and noble youths. End rings inset with same in pierced foliate surrounds. Holds six rarified slices. Marked with maker’s stamp and no. 050. Very good condition.
