This stunning and dynamic Mid Century Modern sculpture was realized by the esteemed New York artist, Harold Sclar (1930-2003), circa 1970. It features three stacked gilded steel ovoid forms- the top two of which have oval cutouts in the center- presented on a volumetric black enamel rectangular base. With its bold graphic form- full of verve and subtle movement- and refined color palate, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It is in excellent vintage condition.
Harold R. Sclar was a New York based sculptor, whose work is represented in the outdoor sculpture garden Riker Hill Art Park, Livingston, New Jersey. He was also the recipent of Florsheim Foundation grant.
