Harry Bertoia Gilt Bronze, Brass and Steel Dandelion Sculpture

Description
Bertoia's Dandelion form is widely regarded to be the apex of his career. An overwhelming physical presence is balanced by its truly delicate nature. A gilt bronze central sphere is the basis of the form, created by successive application of hundreds of individual gilt wire sprays. Raised on a heavy brass stem, set into a solid granite base.
