Known as Rochester Iron Works, Rochester, New Hampshire, ca. 1875
Cast iron, sheet iron tail
Excellent condition with an exceptional oxidized surface with traces of an early white paint.
Provenance: Private Collection of Anne and Gilbert Hudson
In a rare desirable small size, this cast iron horse weathervane exhibits wonderful sculptural features both in design and proportions. The elegance of the horse’s posture is further complimented by the well-defined body. -
