On offer for your consideration we have a stylish German secessionist hand forged iron floor ashtray is the form of a viking ship.
This rare and unusual piece was made and designed by Hugo Berger and made in the city of Coberg around 1910. Typical of Coberg's work are they use of honest materials such as iron and brass. the manual character clearly catches the eye.
In the early 20th Century he became well known worldwide, sell his pieces in the leading department store Liberty's of London.
Signed with foundry mark. -
