Jean René Gauguin (April 12, 1881 – April 21, 1961) was a French-Danish sculptor in bronze and a ceramicist working in stoneware and porcelain. He started working for Bing and Grondahl in 1923 and continued creating new models throughout his life. He exhibited several works crreated for B&G at the 1925 Paris "Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs", he also work for a short time as a artist at the Sevres porcelain works in France. He had a long career designing wonderful sculptures with themes from mythology like the little troll, this being one of his best models. The piece is signed R.Gauguin, model # 102 B&G Denmark.
