-
Description
A Japanese cloisonne vase of fine quality by the workshop of Hayashi Kodenji (1831-1915) dated to early 20th century 1910-30s. In a mid-night dark blue background that the artist was known for, an arrangement of a variety of chrysanthemum flowers was depicted in the most detailed fashion. The gradient and shift of color is extremely subtle and realistic. There are stylized borders around the silver rim on the top and the base. Marked "Pure Silver" on the base rim. Branded with Hayashi Kodenji cipher underneath with wire as shown.
