a large and well-executed pair of rococo style 4-arm candelabra with trefoil-shaped baluster stem supporting a single candle cup; all resting on a six-footed splayed base; the four double-modeled candle arms supporting tulip-shaped cups on circular bobeches; adorned overall with meandering floral vines, foliate scrolls and rocaille motifs; with underglaze blue maker's mark
Originally designed by Friedrich Elias Meyer at the Meissen Porcelain Manufactory in 1775. The design was re-introduced by KPM porcelain modeller Jacoba Gijsberta Monica van Eck in the late 1950s. Each candelabra with the distinct KPM Berlin royal scepter maker's mark with manufacturing dates of 1945-1962. -
