Lidded porcelain apothecary jar, with hand-painted Latin label "cera alba" (beeswax), from 19th century France. Six jars are available (see last two images for the grouping), but sold individually priced $650 each. Flat lids cover two jars and lids with knob-type handles cover four jars in this set.
