Over-all in great condition, original paint with minor touch-ups.
Provenance: Private dealer’s collection, Enfield, New Hampshire.
Lloyd Thomas was not only a skilled craftsman and carver but a highly talented sculptor. He worked at Camden Shipbuilding and Marine Railway Co. during World War II. Thomas is best known for relief wood carved panels of ships, fish and eagles. He most famously carved a Rockland-built clipper ship, Red Jacket, that was purchased for President Roosevelt and hung in the White House.
