Description
Dreamlike, very rare Loetz Witwe glass vase, decor "Cytisus Yellow" with silver overlay out of Bohemia, circa 1902. The Cytisus decor is definitley amongst the most impressive decors ever created by the famous company of Johann Loetz-Witwe in Klostermuehle, Bohemia. The pattern of Loetz often follow the artistic taste and so does the "Cytisus". Examples for this kind of design can be found in Gustav Klimt´s paintings. The flower blossom shape and the rhythmic decoration were typical attributes of this creative period. The elaborately crafted floral silver overlay depicting beautiful water lilies confers this glass vase an absolute outstanding appearance and reflects the typical signs of Art Nouveau.
