Silver plated brass umbrella stand. Beautiful textural surface.
From the workshop of Mario Pinton, Vicenza.
Pinton, father of the Padua Goldsmith School, participated in the Milan Triennale and Munich Fair in the 1950's. Along with the Pomodoro's and Martinazzi, in 1961, he was invited to show his work at the Victoria and Albert Museum. He began teaching in 1945 starting a school in Padua for Jewelry making. He mentored a new generation of modern Jewelry designers, becoming an international celebrity for his elegant, innovative and refined creations. -
