Description
Very decorative Ottoman Empire table box with all sides inlaid with harlequin style marquetry including mother of pearl, various hardwoods, and shell underlaid with various colored pigments in geometrical forms. A waxed solid wood interior with a lidded side compartment. The box stands upon stepped bracket feet. Hand French polish. This box was most likely a marriage box and is rare for its smaller size.
