Paul Flato Whimsies Silver Box Movie Stars Autographs c.1939
-
Description
Wonderful Celebrity Autographed Sterling Box made by Paul Flato's Whimsies. Back in the 1930s to 1950s, Paul Flato was the go-to jeweler to the stars. He created this unusual box with enclosed diamond tipped scribe nestled in its interior. Many famous people that signed: Jack Benny, Mary Martin, Fanny Brice, Joan Blondell, Herbert Hoover and many other signatures that are unfamiliar to me. What a clever idea! Flato designed exquisite pieces of jewelry for many of the Hollywood stars. This box was made with the intention to get real celebs to sign their signature with a diamond tipped engraving tool. 3 1/2" W x 2 7/8" x 5/8" d. Weight is approximately 144 gr.
