Description
"The Untrammeled Mood of the Artist at Work", a rare figural wall sculpture in solid pewter by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed on front “Philip Kelvin LaVerne”). The LaVernes did a small series of cast wall sculptures incorporating nude figures set in a painter’s studio in both solid bronze or pewter in the 1960’s. These hung in the original LaVerne Gallery. This is a rare collectors work of art and includes the original gallery label.

This small work explores the relationship between artist and model. When a model poses nude, there is a general inequality as she or he is undressed and vulnerable. This work strips away that inequality and puts them on equal footing.” -
