Metal umbrella stand by Piero Fornasetti. Italy, circa 1960.

With a brass rim and wonderful printed gold cameos throughout depicting ancient subjects.

There are minor losses to the surface decoration, which don't detract from the chic decorative appeal of this stand.

Fornasetti maker's mark to the underside. Fornasetti is one of the most famous names in Italian Mid Century homewares. The whimsical design company was founded by Piero Fornasetti in the 1950s and today the atelier is run by his son, Barnaba.
