Roberto Estevez Exquisite Bull Sculpture with Sea Shells 1980s (Signed)
-
Description
Exquisite unique sculpture of a stylized bull composed of sea shells with etched brass elements and an ebonized base by Roberto Estevez, American 1980's (signed “ESTEVEZ” on plaque on base). The use of sea shells to compose parts of the bull is nothing short of genius.
Roberto Estevez was a superbly talented jewelry designer and sculptor. He designed jewelry for Cartier, Van Cleef and Arpels as well as Tiffany. Roberto Estevez was Karl Springer’s life partner until his death in the 1980s. Estevez’s sophisticated and elegant designs in beautiful and often exotic materials fit in perfectly with Karl’s own aesthetic and many of Roberto’s sculptures were sold through Karl Springer’s showrooms. His ingenious animal sculptures are considered some of his best work. -
