Sarcophagus-Form Tea Caddy
Probably English, ca. 1830-1850
Birds-eye maple veneer, pine; brass feet and handles.
Over-all in fine condition, minor losses to veneer edges, customary wear.
A wonderful example of a Regency sarcophagus form tea caddy with delightful birds-eye maple veneers, the interior fitted with a waste bowl flanked by removable tea boxes with traces of foil lining. The caddy is supported with a brass repousse’ having paw feet.
