STOCKHOLM ART DECO PALLADIUM THEATRE ORNAMENT "COMEDY"

Description
A large exterior sculpture from the circa 1918 Palladium theatre in Stockholm, Sweden. Made completely of copper this “comedy” face is enclosed in a stylized Greek Chalcidian helmet. Newly restored the sculpture now sits on a custom iron stand which has been patinated to match the sculpture.
This is one of four “comedy & tragedy” heads which once sat atop the theater’s original marquee no others are know to have survived a 1987 renovation.
