Description
Manganoan Calcite on Cast Glass
The soothing pink hue of manganoan calcite bursts forth from a gently shaped hand cast glass base in this stunning natural sculpture from Studio Greytak. The natural points and color variations invite the viewer to linger and enjoy the pure energy present in this beautiful specimen. Manganoan calcite has long been associated with peace and well being and it is thought to stimulate feelings of universal love.
Calcite can be considered the building block mineral for both man and nature. Calcite is the basis for seashells, coral and plankton in the sea. It is used in modern building materials such as plaster, mortar, and cement. It makes up the famous Carrera marble from Italy, Limestone cliffs in Iowa, and the Washington, Monument in D.C. Travertine comes from calcite, precipitating out of hot springs like those in Yellowstone National Park. It forms drapes in Mitchell Caverns, California, and forms the White Cliffs of Dover. Even Michelangelo’s Pieta found its start in Calcite. No wonder it is considered the “multi-vitamin” of the metaphysical world. Considered a large energy amplifier, calcite is said to speed up development and growth. It connects the emotions with the intellect and, like its physical properties, is rightfully called the stabilizing stone.
This piece would ideally be placed in a room where you spend plenty of time such as a living room or dining room.
