Ugo Zaccagnini & Figli, Signed Life Size Dog Boxer Sculpture Ceramic Italy 1950s
-
Description
An amazing glazed ceramic life size & signed sculpture of a dog-Boxer by legendary designer-maker Ugo Zaccagnini, Italy, 1960s. This amazing and rare sculpture of "Mans Best Friend" has a wonderful and patterned finish that is both in and on top of its richly glazed satin sheen coat, making it that much more stylish and lifelike. My kids named this guy "Duke" and they'll swear he's loving and friendly! I'm sure you'll get lots of love too, even if you rename our canine Duchess!
Provenance: I purchased "Duke" from an outstanding and MCM-decorated home in Millburn (AKA Short Hills) New Jersey from the original owner. The home was professional appointed in the 1960s with an eclectic mix of designer and handmade furnishings, art and more. A real time-capsule home from which I still own several great pieces.
Condition: As far as I can tell "Duke" is free of breaks or repairs. As mentioned in the description, the finish is in and on top of the glaze, so some areas have minor scuffs and perhaps finish loss. Otherwise it is in great shape. - More Information
