Description
Vasili Grachev, 1831-1905. A patinated chocolate brown bronze grouping of horses pulling a troika with figures. A Classic Russian bronze grouping of three horses tearing through the snow pulling a troika led by a sleds-man leading passage for two ladies. The movement and romantic feeling is immense and almost dangerous. Original casting, circa 1877. Measures: Length 27 cm, 10.6 inches, height: 11.5 cm, 4.5 inches. Signed inscribed in Cyrillic Lep. Grachev with “FABR. C. F. WOERFFEL. St. PETERSBURG” foundry mark Condition: Excellent original patina. Very good original condition. Foundry mark for C. F. Woerffel.
