Description
This stoneware vase "Argenta Celadon" for Gustavsberg, model 1602 is decorated with a celadon-colored glaze and silver accents. It is hand-cranked and deep-stamped.
Wilhelm Kåge was a Swedish artist, ceramicist. From 1917 until 1949, he served as artistic director at the Gustavsberg porcelain factory, where he created numerous ceramic designs inspired by modern painting and sculpture movements.
The "Argenta" line of decorative stoneware was unveiled at the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition and has since become Wilhelm Kåge's most widely appreciated and commercially successful product series. -
