  • Description
    Medallion sterling silver creamer and sugar. Made by William Gale & Son in New York in 1862. Creamer ewer form with ovoid bowl, helmet mouth, high-looping handle, and stepped foot; gilt-washed interior. Sugar basket ovoid with asymmetrical scrolled rim, c-scroll swing handle, and reeded foot; gilt-washed interior. Both have cast Classical profiles in ovals surrounded by engraved stylized leafing scrollwork on stippled ground. Engraved 3-letter monogram. Fully marked including dated maker’s stamp. Very good condition.
