A Large Framed Antique Chinese Textile

    On offer is an attractive piece of textile of Chinese origin beautifully framed in a gilt and UV glass shadow box. Artistically displayed, the piece is the large apron portion of a traditional skirt of a noble woman from late Ch'ing dynasty (circa late 19th century). The apron features multiple fanned-out silk bands embroidered with auspicious symbols including floral and cloud designs and a dragon motif, indicating the owner's noble status.

    Condition: Excellent antique condition. Light fading and fraying on the edge of the textile. The gilt frame is in an antiqued finish and has some age wear. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses.
