A Large Framed Antique Chinese Textile

Description
On offer is an attractive piece of textile of Chinese origin beautifully framed in a gilt and UV glass shadow box. Artistically displayed, the piece is the large apron portion of a traditional skirt of a noble woman from late Ch'ing dynasty (circa late 19th century). The apron features multiple fanned-out silk bands embroidered with auspicious symbols including floral and cloud designs and a dragon motif, indicating the owner's noble status.

The gilt frame is in an antiqued finish and has some age wear. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Creation Date: China, Late 19th Century.
