Description
Two larges tapestries, by Anne-Marie Monginoux (1945-1994) and Daniel Dartois (1943-2006), Bordeaux, France, circa 1970 / 1972
Handmade from natural materials (wool, felt, leather, lace, wood, string, etc.). Unique pieces.
Daniel Dartois and Anne-Marie Monginoux had an extraordinary workshop in Bordeaux, where they created these large tapestries using a mixture of materials. In the 70s, these tapestries were very popular, and their popularity was linked to the back-to-the-earth movement. At the time, people were realizing that the planet offered beautiful materials with which to create.
The Atelier Dartois was a creative space opened in the early 1970s, which also served as a place for creation, exhibitions and meetings. Today, it is managed by the ARTICULATIONS association, founded in 1982 by Daniel Dartois. The place and its vocation still exist under the name « Atelier Dartois- Galerie d’autres Mondes ».
The 2 tapestries are differnt sizes:

Height tapestry N°2: 228 cm
Width tapestry N°1: 110 cm
Width tapestry N°2: 96 cm -
