Handmade New England Hooked Rug, circa 1960
-
Description
- A unique example of one of our favorite folk art forms, this hooked rug was handmade in Massachusetts around 1960.
- Signed on its underside by its maker, Isobel White, this piece demonstrates a strong, playful color sensibility and an imaginative interpretation of the traditional form. We love its graphic and modern grid motif.
- We love using hooked rugs in homes of all kinds, but are especially partial to them on painted floors. This would make an excellent accent at the foot of a bed, in an entry, or hallway.
- This piece is in very good vintage condition and is signed by its maker on the back. Please see our detailed photos. -
