This antique Persian Kirman rug dating back to circa 1920 embodies both refined workmanship and sublime artistic taste. It carries an elaborate botanical design featuring repeating blooming trees, weeping willows and cypress trees all framed separately in small medallions. The series of borders encloses the main design with further tree and floral motifs and scrolling floral vines. This opulent composition is rendered in a palette of red, blue, beige, salmon and greens.
