18TH CENTURY AUBUSSON TAPESTRY AFTER J.B. PILLEMENT IN THE CHINOISERIE TASTE
With an exotic bird in the foreground in front of a body of water with a boat. On the right hand side a parrot rests on a rock rising out of the ground. In the distance a pagoda stands on a hill at the top of a flight of stairs.
With exotic flowering trees and foliage throughout.
Reduced in size and woven with a yellow and brown patterned border in the Aubusson style. The tapestry is not backed, but is ready to be hung.
France c, 1770.
