Description
Alvino Bagni was an acclaimed ceramicist and designer. Born in Verona, Italy, in 1919, he worked for some of the largest Italian ceramic makers, including Bitossi, for which he served as artistic director for several years. In 1956, he established his own studio, Bagni Ceramiche, in Lastra a Signa. He quickly became known for his tableware and decorative pieces that featured dramatic shapes, eye-catching colors and dynamic textures. Today, his works are part of collections in several museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, New York, and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, UK.
