Description
An antique Japanese porcelain plate circa 19th century Meiji era. Decorated with over glaze featuring three ladies in waiting. In the garden, the rock grottoes, a cherry tree in blossom, a half hidden banana tree and a few peeking peonies, suggest a subtropical scenery. The ladies were pictured as holding various item, a fly whisk, a mirror, and a fan, implying their status of high status maiden. The back of the plate is marked with a single character within a red seal as well as impressed with a Japanese potter's seal.

Period: 19th Century Materials: ceramic Condition: Good. Free of chips, cracks or breakages. There is a minor flaking of glazed on the lower skirt of one lady as shown.
