An antique Japanese early Meiji era enamel over copper charger plate. The exterior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome scene with birds in a river landscape with blossoming flowers and plants on a turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The border features traditional snail, floral, foliage and reticulated ornaments made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with a swirl motif made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked.
