Federal Classical coin silver teapot. Made by John Burger in New York, ca 1790. Straight and oval with long diagonal spout; silver-mounted high-looping and leaf-capped stained-wood handle. Cover hinged and domed with vasiform finial. Beading. Engraved script monogram in leafing branch surround. An elegant piece from the early years of the Republic that reflects the ongoing influence of the mother country. Marked “Burger”. Very good condition. Engraving sunk. Solder repairs.
