Large silver salver by Dobson & Sons, 19th century
English, c.1893
Height 6.5cm, diameter 64cm

This exquisite antique tray is crafted entirely of solid silver, making it a wonderful example of fine English Victorian craftsmanship.
The large engraved circular silver salver features a beautiful floral design and shell border. The piece stands on four scrolling feet, and is hallmarked to the underside.
Crafted by the notable silverware firm Dobson & Sons (London, est. 1877) and retailed by Elkington & Co. Ltd, the salver comes with an elegant fitted wooden case with a velvet interior bearing an Elkington retailer's label.
